The last few edits of the film

Today we was just looking through the music video to see what last tweaks that we could add in to finally finish of the music video. The deadline is soon and we have got all the filming done and mainly all the editing aswell, just the final bit were the Oh me Oh my is written on the book,

Miss Thompson gave us a list of what we needed to add into the music video to finish it off,

  1. The 2nd oh me oh my was not in time not in time so we had to change it so it was in sync
  2. Close up on guitar was not long enough
  3. Make a title and artist at the beginning of the video
  4. Between london cards we needed to reorder and sort out the speed as it looked unprofessional
  5. Band wipes in-between the second verse, not fades as there are a few of them already
  6. Transitions
  7. Edit the exercise book part so the Oh Me Oh My looks like it jumps onto the front of the page

New Idea

Looking through our music video we decided that we hadn't got enough footage for the OH ME OH MY chorus at the end, so we decided to add something different in this was to write down Oh Me Oh My on a white pad with different coloured pens on the side of the book to make it look creative.

After every one word we would record the word on the pad and then stop recording so it doesn't actually show the person writing the word, it just jumps to the next word which makes it stick out and looks creative.

The colour of the words also were different and we tried to make it look good by not being organised when writing the words so the words were not placed in a correct position they was separated apart from the other words.

The schedule for the filming

This picture is off the schedule that we created to show what we were doing, over the dates that we have wrote about, the props that we had used on them specific days, who was currently at the place when we were filming, and where about we were filming.

It also shows the costumes that everyone that was being filmed would be wearing and what they would be wearing in specific destinations.

Pictures for Digipak

These are the pictures that are used in our music video, magazine advert and the digipak. This is the main feature in our music video because it is when they get the boards mixed up and have to quickly change it so it is correct

The OH ME OH MY take

This is what we had in mind and when we were filming it, it was perfect the way it come out. What we had to do was we needed to have the words for OH ME OH MY round the wrong way then we had to change them through the different windows and this is what it looked like while it was being filmed.
As you can see Charlie and Tom have got the cards the wrong way round and then they have to pass them through the different window, this is tricky to time but it looks good. Other than that Jake and the other Jake are looking up and shaking there heads.

Editing the film

Adjusting lines to make other layers drop in and out so it looks creative and other frames look better when they are mixed together.

This is all the different frames that we have included in our music video some are parts of others that have been cut out and maybe used in another place

The two blue flags are were we are taking the footage out of the whole clip as that is the only part we are using

This is were we speed things up to make it look comical and intresting for others to view

Anaylsis of the survey

After we made our survey, we were waiting on responses to see different peoples views of what they think about a music video, to be honest despite getting about 50 responses for our thriller last year this year we only managed to get 15.

The first question

What gender are you?

How old are you?
Mostly people took our survey from the ages of 16 to 19, this shows that in that age region is the target audience for our music video.

What is you favourite music video and why?

All the answers within this table is what people voted as their favourite music video they have seen, all of these answers aree good to have as it can guide us into a directrion where we think peole are going to like our music video and our song. After doing a couple of lessons on the top 100 pop music videos we have a better understanding of music videos and we will try to include certain factors that our audience like.
How often do you watch music videos in a week?

This pie chart shows how often people tend to watch music videos on TV or the internet, this main sided coloured blue is for 0-5 so we dont really know wether that is to say they dont watch them or they watch them 1-5 for instance, some other responses do say that they watch them quite a bit so we will want to make our video like one of them.

Would you go out of your way to watch a music video?
This is just a simple question to see if people would actually go out of their way to view a music video that they have heard the song to, out of the 15 responses 13 of them said they would which means a music video if vital and we are going to make our intresting so that people want to watch it aswell.

On a scale of 1-10 what is the importance of a music videon, in relation to the promotion of the song?
As you can see through the responses, from 6-10 people believed that it was a high importence that the music video does help promote the song.

What is you favourite music genre?
In this question we wanted to see what genre was the most liked by our target audience, as you can see dance is the most dominated by the people, with pop, RnB and dubstep just behind.

What is you favourite music video style?
In this question we was trying to find out what type of music video style people tend to enjoy watching, looking at our results people tend to choose comical more than others, with Dance, Story like and emotional being others favourites

What do you think a music video needs to be in a music video?
